I had to rush Mowgli to the Emergency Animal Hospital today because he kept vomiting and having diarrhea with blood. After hours of anxiously waiting, countless tests and a blood panel, the Vet concluded that Mowgli is in advanced stages of Renal Failure. They highly recommended that we have him hospitalized for 2 days while they try to bring down the toxicity levels in his kidneys, following a transfer to their internal medicine department for a treatment plan. The Dr also informed me that even with a good treatment plan, he may only have up to 6 months left. The estimated veterinary bill is about $4000. I know that some of you may think that $4000 is a lot of money to spend on the possibility of having 6 more months with Mowgli but its so much more than that. It's 6 months for me to learn how to say goodbye. It's 6 months to take him to places that he's never been. 6 months for me to tell him how much he means to me and how much his daddy loves him. I am so lost trying to even process it...

For those of you who know me, you know that Mowgli and his brother Cubby are my world and they have both been nothing short of my greatest therapy through my depression. The thought of a day like today has tormented my subconscious for years. I've never been good at asking for help. I'm not any better at it today but every little bit does mean the world to me.
