Mower County Citizens for Felines TNR & Rescue
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Rylie. I started MCCFF with another concerned citizen, Brooke, in June of 2023 due to the amount of feral/stray cats we had both been feeding at our homes. Shortly after we posted the group we created using Facebook on July 11, 2023 we got a ton of messages from people asking us to help them with feral/stray cats and now here we are almost six months later still going strong with the help of some amazing human-beings and generous donations of many kinds! We have made a lot of progress so far but we have a long way to go. The amount of feral cats everywhere is very persistent and overwhelming but we are doing everything we can to get it under control here in Mower County, MN.
MCCFF is a (501c3 currently in-process) Non-Profit in Mower County, MN who's primary mission is TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) efforts, along with providing food, water, and hand made shelters for feral felines. We also work to help rescue feral/stray cats when we are able to but our main mission for the time being is TNR until we can grow and do more. We consist of six heavily involved volunteers along with a few others that volunteer here and there when able - regardless of the involvement we are SO thankful for each volunteer. We could not do this without them! For anyone that may not know this fact, TNR stops the breeding cycle of feral cats and therefore improves their lives while preventing reproduction.
We are hoping to raise this money to continue our TNR/Rescue efforts as it all adds up very quickly & we have a lot of cats to help still.
The closest vet willing to work with us at a discounted rate is 41.9 miles away & the second closest is 51.1 miles away from Mower County, MN and costs between $100-200/appointment for pain meds, spay/neuter, FIV/FeLV testing, as well as rabies and distemper vaccines and sometimes more is needed. This does not include the cost of transportation either, which we all know is not cheap. We have upwards of 60+ cats currently on our list either being fed daily by us or someone we provide food to in order to feed for us or waiting on funds and vet appointments to be neutered. We are feeding in 9 locations currently, each with multiple cats, not counting the 6 cats & kittens that are being fostered by volunteers currently. Luckily we have been able to get an upwards up 25+ cats fixed & vetted and more than 15 of them have made their way to Furball Cat Farm Sanctuary in Faribault, MN. :) I am adding some pictures of the cats we feed, foster, & ones that still need to get neutered. Unfortunately, we do not have pictures of every cat on our list. Some were taken on our phones & some were taken with a trail cam or security camera. The pictures will be at the very end. :)
