A Parkinson's podcast - with attitude!
My name's Andi and a couple of years ago, at 70 and on the eve of retirement, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. A shock for sure, but I met the challenge head-on, taking up group singing, dancing, yoga and even boxing. What's next for our intrepid Parky - ping pong perhaps?
Currently on the launchpad…Parky Conversations, a podcast for, about and by people with Parkinson's and those who care about them. (You might like it even if you don't have a Parkinson's connection). Scheduled guests include a physician/researcher at Mass General Hospital who will enlighten us about the surge in creativity experienced by some with Parrkinson's; an expert on young-onset Parkinson's at the Mayo Clinic; and a scientist who will tell us all about PD hallucinations - including why my bedroom carpet seems to ripple.
I have a popular blog called Moving and Shaking that readers have called funny and inspiring. It's likely you'll learn
some surprising things about this illness, and have some fun at the same time.
If you're looking for a few chuckles, even as your leg is clenching up this very moment (mine is), and you just want to get into bed, you've come to the right place. It's (sigh) another day in Parkyland.
You can help me reach more people with PD and educate those who don't have it but would like to learn more by supporting the podcast. I appreciate any help you can offer. Many thanks!
