Help Natalie move
Donation protected

My name is Elizabeth Wood, and I am writing this GFM campaign to help my longtime friend Natalie Harmon put together the money she needs to move to a lower-cost residence so she can continue to live independently.
Natalie has always enjoyed living in nature, away from neighbors, so she can have chickens (as referenced in the above photo!) and dogs. Originally a Nashville native, she's moved a couple times, both times to a less expensive, more rural area with a little land for chickens and bees and a garden.
Because she was born with Muscular Dystrophy, Natalie had multiple childhood surgeries and wears leg braces to this day. She worked until the MD progressed to the point that it became a true disability. Natalie has been on Social Security disability since (year).
Natalie lost her husband to a sudden cardiac event in 2010. He was her soul mate, companion, and help-meet. He took care of many of the details of life that are hard to do when a person has a disability. Life got significantly more difficult with Bill's passing, and understandably, Natalie has not recovered from it.
As housing costs continue to climb nationwide, so goes Tennessee. Currently, Natalie needs to move from her home to a different county within TN. Doing so will trim her cost of living and allow her to stay in a private residence rather than public housing for the elderly and disabled. Natalie would be miserable in such a situation and wants desperately to avoid it. The move would allow her to stay within her SSI income.
The cost to move her furniture, chicken coop, clothing, and dog pen will be about $1300, barring any unforeseen costs. I'm setting the target at $1800, because I figure there are always unforeseen costs.
I am merely the messenger. I will not receive any funds that are donated to this campaign. Money raised will go straight to Natalie.
