Steph's SCI Road to Recovery

My name is Stephanie Nichols-Rodas, I am 33 years old. I was born in Pomona, CA,but moved to Mexico city when I was 1year old.
I grew up in Mexico city where I had my daughter Barbara. Being a single mom I wanted a better life for her so I decided to come to San Diego with my family. After a Year I met my husband and we got married 2 years later.I did my GED,and months later I was working in a pawn shop, after 2 years I was the manager of the pawnshop, studied and got a
certificate in appraising diamonds. I was happy, I had all my heart and mind wanted.
It was one Saturday morning, that my life changed 360°.
I was on my way to work when I was hit by another car causing me to flip 3 times. I was strangled by the seat belt. I broke my neck, cervical 5 was shattered. C6 through 7 were damaged. I wasn't very stable and they didn't give my family much hope of me surviving through the night. When they were able to operate they still didn't guarantee any hope.
When I opened my eyes after the car accident, the whole way I used to see the world changed. I have been a quadriplegic since 2017,5 years.
For the past 5 years,I have been dependent on someone 24/7,and life has become harder for my family and for me. My daughter is 13 and well we all know how teenagers are, lol!
Husband works. I have decided to go back to school.
It is quite a challenge for me, because my first language is basically Spanish, and I am a little bit rusty with all this online world, but if something I have learned is that it's not about the big goals,it's about making everyday little milestones.
This is why I am asking for your help, to continue going to physical therapy, I still have a long way to go and unfortunately fighting with a disability makes bills really high, and money is really tight, unfortunately at this point between medical bills, therapy, wheelchair adjustments, etc have us in a lot of debt,I am already in collection, and I might have to claim bankruptcy pretty soon, but it's okay not even that is going to stop me, continue defying odds, getting stronger each day,I have been able to do this thanks to your help, love and prayers.
That is why I ask you that If it's in your possibilities please donate, if you can't PLEASE SHARE!! Every dollar adds up and helps me continue with my therapy, doctors appointments,my health and care....You never know who is willing to help a stranger, I won't disappoint you!
THANK YOU ❤️
