Moving On Without My Mom
Donation protected

There is something about losing your mom that is permanent and
inexpressible - a wound that will never quite heal. But she was more than the best mom I could have ever asked for, she was my best friend too.

March 17th, 2019. My mom, Diana Darchele Collier-Benson, at age 48 unexpectedly passed at St. Anthony's North in the company of family and loved ones.

That morning I realized that at 18 I would have to live the rest of my life without my best friend, my mother; which is more time than I was even given with her. That was the morning I lost my world. It was me and her against the world, and now it's just me.

Though the loss of my mom was detrimental, I've not even had a moment to grieve due to the fact that I'm in a financial nightmare. I'm currently a full-time student working a part time job and I have never really had any financial obligations before. I lived with my single mother who took care of everything financially, even though she struggled to do so. I have no siblings and no contact with my father...I am truly lost and on my own. At this point I am currently forced to leave my childhood home as it will be sold. I will not receive any profit made on the house. This essentially leaves me with no money to care for not only myself, but our family dog Sunny as well. Living on my own comes with a multitude of other expenses such as out-of-pocket health insurance, car insurance, medicine, automotive services, rent, groceries, etc.

Though it pains me to ask others for their help and hard earned money, I am currently facing a situation where any help I can get will go a long way. Whether it be a donation as little as five dollars, a shoulder to cry on, or even a prayer would be greatly appreciated, more than you know.

Thank you all for your condolences and your support with everything. I have a long, difficult path ahead of me and your help will make my goals attainable, as well as make my survival seem less impossible.
