Moving from LA to South Dakota

Thank you for taking the time to read this message! This long time Angeleno is moving to Rapid City, SD. As LA rents are very high and I’m not having any luck even finding a room to rent, I need to move, along with my 2 cats, out of state. Out of the blue, I thought of my friend in Rapid City. I contacted him to see if he knew of anything affordable to rent there, and amazingly he said he was in the midst of building out an area of his home to rent. Talk about coincidence! I need a place and he has a place! We were roommates during college (millions of years ago), so we know we get along well.

He said fine with the cats - he has one also. I am very grateful for this new place to live.

It has been a bit of a difficult ride since the beginning of the Pandemic. At that time, March 2020, I moved out of my apartment for financial reasons. I have found somewhere to live since that time, but I have had to move 5 times, as each place had a time limit. I have truly wonderful friends, and a wonderful brother, and have either rented from them or in one case, was offered a home to live in, as it was in probate.

At times my stress was very high, not knowing where I would live next, but my cats and I have never not had a home, because of these beautiful people. Other beautiful friends, aware of what I’ve been going through, have provided me with incredible support, whether thru text, a phone call or a hike. I am blessed by the people in my life.

I have an Etsy shop and 2 part-time jobs, but need help covering travel expenses, such as gas and lodging. I will be leaving March 1, so would need the funds during the next month to make lodging reservations.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donations. I realize it is asking a lot for financial help and I do not do this lightly. Thank you so much for reading my message.
