Moving During a Pandemic- Let's help our teachers!
Dear Marylhurst Community,
We need your help. Over the next month our school is moving the K-8 campus to the beautiful Heron Creek property and vacating the Home Base property in West Linn for the new owners. The Board of Trustees is holding a small campaign to raise money to hire labor and trucks to move the K-8 to our new campus at Heron Creek. Traditionally, such a move would include several work parties from the community to help but, given the statewide Freeze, these work parties are not feasible. Given this, we feel it’s important to take a burden off our teachers and faculty as well as limit their time on campus while the state is experiencing increased Covid-19 mandates.
We have hired movers who are safety trained to do moves during COVID and willing to give us their best rate. But, this comes at a cost:
-8x movers
-2x 26 ft box trucks
-1x regular truck with a trailer
They estimated 10-12 hours - $5,000-7,000
As we all know, this year has been an intense one and we would love to show up for our teachers and faculty to support them. Every family's situation is different right now. Small or large, all contributions are meaningful. Thank you!
