10/12 Update
Hi!
My husband and I went to see George last night and bring him and his girls dinner. Jeni updated her facebook page, so I copied it over here as well.

A huge thank you for all of the donations. Every day has been so stressful, and this GoFundMe has helped us pickup food when I can't think straight enough to plan dinner or to pick up something to make the girls feel happy for a moment. This week I have met with so many doctors to talk about what to do next. George's wounds are not healing, and we had to start the difficult talk about hospice care. We are meeting with hospice agencies, but we haven't made any decisions yet. My heart hurts to have these conversations, and my stomach is in knots.

Thank you for all the support that you have given, but let us all continue to show love and support to this beautiful family during this most difficult time.

Hi! This is a very hard update to share with you all.. but it is necessary. I copied this from jeni's facebook page

I have struggled to post an update because I needed time to process the bad news we were given. My heart hurts as we start planning things we thought we had more time to plan. George is experiencing untreatable medical complications related to his diabetes, end stage renal failure, and dialysis. The doctors switched him from PD dialysis to hemodialysis in hopes that it will help his wounds heal so that he can spend some quality time with his family. Right now he is still in the hospital because he is not stable enough to be discharged. We have spent the last week trying to figure out feasible options. The doctors make it sound so easy to just go home and live your best life while you can, but the reality is much more complicated. Obviously he wants to come home, and it breaks my heart that it is not possible right now. He needs 24/7 nursing care and dialysis 3x a week which costs $400 for door-to-door medical transport. Palliative care does not provide nursing care, and we are not ready to stop his dialysis treatments. The plan right now is that when George is well enough to be discharged, he will be transferred to a skilled rehab where he will have nursing care to help him heal and PT/OT to regain his strength. I have started a medical leave of absence so that I can be by his side and try to keep his spirits up. I am going to update our GoFundMe if anyone wants to help while we try and figure out how to cope with all of this. We are stressed and overwhelmed and heartbroken

Hi! My name is Melissa and I am a long-time friend of Jeni and George. I've started this go-fundme to help them with moving & housing expenses. As many of us know, George has been on a kidney transplant list for a while now and has been unable to work. He most recently has been fighting life threatening infections in his blood and his feet, causing him to have multiple surgeries and amputations. He was transferred to a rehab hospital for wound care and therapies. They are closely monitoring whether the wound is healing or if he will need more surgery. Due to all of this, they are finding themselves needing to move out of their long-time home (which is on the third floor and no elevator) and into a first floor apartment that will be accessible for George. This means they will have to cover an apartment deposit and first month rent, movers (since Jeni can't do this alone) and their mortgage while coping with major medical complications. This is very stressful to write, and I can't imagine living it. So, if you can, please donate to help take a little stress off of them as they try to cope with all these major changes in their lives.

Thanks!
