'Movie Night' is the brainchild of actor and executive producer Liam O'Donnell, who tossed ideas and a storyline at Deirdre Khoo (Midnight Memories TV, Lavender), who then took it and ran with it, and put down a screenplay for it.
Movie Night is a heart-warming drama/slice-of-life project, that explores the story of a lonely man with a deep desire for real connection goes on a journey of healing and self-improvement. We delve into the world of Andy - a regular guy; Nothing out of the ordinary. But obstacles are a part of life, and how we deal with them is the way we move forward.
With intricate cinematography & powerful performances from a talented cast, ‘Movie Night’ is a feel-good short film with a message of hope and comfort.
We are raising funds to not only help bring this comforting story to life, but also enter it in as many film festivals as possible for the latter half of 2026! The more we are able to raise for this project, the more we are able to split it amongst our crew & cast (very deservingly for the amount of talent that they bring to the project!).
Every donation will be a massive help in shaping this incredible story, and will supporting out cast & crew, who are top of their craft and have such care & intricacy put into their work.
THINGS YOUR DONATIONS WILL HELP:
- Cover filming/recording equipment & insurance costs
- Supply catering, food, drinks for cast, crew & extras
- Acquire set design, props, costumes & etc.
- Cover high-quality post-production costs (ie. colourists, sound engineers etc.)
- Submit to film festivals for nationwide Australian and international release
- Be able to split the remaining money to all crew & cast for their hard work
Every little donation will be a massive contribution to our team, and we are incredible grateful for every cent you are willing to donate in this economy. Please also note that we might be holding an in-person fundraising event (it's not your typical fundraising event - trust us! It's gonna be some exciting.... Think trivia/bingo/fun night out with you friends with raffl*s you can win!!!)

Doing the acting thing - across film, tv and the odd jobs in between.
I love telling stories and bringing characters to life…Only 3 years into the world of acting, but it brings me so much joy. Always just the perfect place to play and explore… I also love working with great people and being part of a team all working on the same goal - and so this time around, I get to work on a film with some of the best crew in Melbourne! And, telling a story I think we can all resonate with on some level.

We live, work and create on stolen Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country of the Kulin Nation, where sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people, to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge and are honoured to be on land that has been telling stories for over 60,000 years. This always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
