Movement (Arrest) framing costs

Hello friends and family,

If you feel like giving me a gift for my big birthday, I thought to direct this love to help with the cost of framing my recent artwork for an exhibition in March 2025.

I have been developing skills in hand weaving on a digital Jacquard loom and this has taken me to New Zealand and Finland since late 2022. There are no looms of this kind to rent in Australia. So after some basic training in NZ, I travelled to Finland and made some studies for Movement and returned to Finland in July this year to create 10 large works - 1500 x 1300mm.

This series is titled Movement (Arrest). The work draws on imagery from environmental protests, capturing details of an individual at the point of arrest. Starting with a thumbnail news image, I have developed an image to focus on the forms and movement of power and bodies in protest. The work explores tensions between the social change and political will at a time when a collective effort is needed to address the climate emergency.
