Movember for Marco and his daughter

I have never done a gofundme, nor have I ever grown a moustache, there is a good reason for the latter. But seriously, it's Movember, the month we are supposed to raise awareness for men's cancer. Well, men's cancer or women's cancer, it all #cancersucks. Most of us have been effected, it can devastate families. This is the case with my good friend Marco Homen who has just lost his wife and is now raising his daughter on his own. FLADIA was a mom, a smiler, a runner, a wife, a friend, a daughter a fighter, and just as amazing as everyone who is sharing beautiful stories, photos and notes expressing how sorry we are for her passing. She really was this amazing. I saw her shortly after her diagnosis, she looked me in the eye, with a smile said" I got this"
I will never forget that confidence, even in the most challenging times. I guess it's not that surprising, she had just finished her 1st marathon- yes 26 miles, 2 weeks prior to this encounter and 1 week after brain surgery. She was not phased, she was going to beat this #cancersucks..... Unfortunately she lost that battle within 6 weeks of that 1st and last marathon.
The funeral is tomorrow, I am choosing to grow a moustache and raise money for Marco and Julia to help them during this difficult time. I did some help with getting them a grave site, and Marco chose a 3 person plot. The cost is $700 each, this will ensure the family will one day be together again....long from now. That's why my goal is $2100, to cover these costs specifically.
So there you have it. I am growing a moustache , looking like, well....kind of silly, but you can make your own opinion. The idea is to step outside my comfort zone and raise money for something I really believe in.....helping my friend and co-worker who is generous, loving, brave and a guy you would want on your team, so come join his team. #teamfladia.
