Here's why Jamie Cartwright, Founder has decided to set up the @move4freedom initiative:
'Having suffered for years with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety I finally gained access to specialist mental health support. This support came through a private provider and I was fortunate enough to have this funded by a national organisation. Having attempted to seek support through charities my experience didn't help me if anything it pushed me backwards. This is no fault of the charity's I had attended it was simply that they were under funded. Luckily for me I found the right therapist however this wouldn't have been possible without external help. After 18 months of professional and specialist support I can now say that I have been set free from the shackles of depression and anxiety. There are other people who need this help!
Most people do not have the luxury of this high level of care and the state can not provide comprehensive enough specialist support for individuals and families when they need it most.
Move4freedom is a community of people using physical activity to help their own mental wellbeing while raising awareness and supporting individuals, families and organisations'.
Mental wellbeing and the support required has never been so in demand.
