Help Move Mountains for Lucille & Allen Kalbfleisch
Luci was always helping others and offering help when it was needed. This is our chance to give back and help her and her husband Allen!
Luci and Allen depended on both of their incomes to manage their finances, without Luci, Allen is going to struggle. There are options (selling their home, land, etc.) but any monetary help that Allen can receive would be extremely helpful and remove a large weight off of his shoulders.
Luci was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 3rd, 2018, with the prognosis of 6-9 months to live. She lived for 7 months, happily making it to her 65th the birthday on 7/7/18! She then passed on 7/10/18.
Before Lucille was diagnosed, she worked full time at McClaren Health (for 28 years). When her position was terminated, she lost her steady income as well as her life insurance, which would have benefited Allen greatly upon her passing. Luci's advice to her children was to “try to take out a life insurance policy separate from your employer”. She then started working part time jobs to help supplement their income.
I have known Luci for over 20 years. She has always been there for me after my mother passed away when I was a child. Luci (also known as Gigi to my children) is my best friend’s mother. She has helped me to raise my children and became their 2nd grandma after my Grandmother passed away. She is the only mother-figure I have had at this point in my life. Luci and Allen also have 4 grandchildren of their own and have made so many amazing memories at their home. She and Allen deserve every bit of help and more.
They have always lived a humble life. Allen continued to farm on his family farm as a part time job in the summers, in addition to his full time job at North Central Michigan College. He is now retired and unable to work due to health problems himself. They never made a huge income, but lived a happy life. They bent over backwards to make sure their kids did ballet, went to summer camps, went skiing, took piano and voice lessons (and other character building activities!). Allen is unable to do much due to his advanced lung disease. Luckily, his son Ryan is still living at home and able to help him with many of the physical needs to upkeep their home.
Please help me to help them! Donating whatever you can to help this amazing couple would be so great.
Thank you for taking time to read this. Have a blessed day!
