Move Forward: A Music Workshop for Homeless Youth

Donation protected
I, Ali “AMAC” McGuire, have teamed up with Covenant House California, a homeless shelter, to host a first-of-its-kind songwriting workshop: Move Forward.

My companies, Amaculent Entertainment and Apparel  will be bringing in professional songwriters, audio engineers and producers to provide homeless youth the opportunity to express their feelings and voice through the experience of writing, recording and producing music of their own. We’ll be giving them Amaculent Apparel to rock after the workshop (beanies, hoodies, t-shirts, etc.), along with a professional photoshoot.

Music is such an important outlet; it acts as therapy for everyone, especially a young person who has experienced trauma - and this trauma could have happened to any one of us; it’s literally just luck that we are here and they are there. In fact, there are 6,000 homeless youth on the streets Every. Single. Night. in Los Angeles alone -  and honestly, it keeps me up at night.

I made this workshop because it’s something that I felt needs to be done, especially for the youths who still have so much ahead of them, but I need your help to do it

With your donation you’ll be helping us cover the cost of the gear, clothing, supplies, music distribution, food, and goodies AND 5% of every donation goes DIRECTLY to Covenant House California to help them continue to provide sanctuary and support for homeless and trafficked youth.

You can also support this cause by going to www.amaculentapparel.com  to purchase gear of your own with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Move Forward workshops through the months of September and October 2019.

The first (of many) workshops will be held October 9th, 2019 at Covenant House California.

“Mentorship and community have always been a cornerstone of my philosophy on life. The biggest turning point for me was the moment my mentor simply told me “You can do it.” Nothing has meant more to me, nor pushed me further - not only in my career, but in my life. All I want to do is spread this message to as many people as possible. I think this is an especially important message for the youth.”
