Move for the McNultys – Supporting the Fight Against Lymphoma
On Saturday, 31st May 2025, our community came together for Move for the McNultys - a heartfelt walk from Shoal Bay Country Club to Fingal Bay Sporties Club in honour of Steven McNulty, who lost his battle with lymphoma in 2010, and his brother Rob, who continues to show incredible strength in his own fight.
Thanks to your generosity, we reached an incredible milestone:
$40,000 raised for the Calvary Mater Newcastle Auxiliary, supporting the Haematology Department.
In July, we officially donated the funds to help purchase two new apheresis machines, now on site and ready to support patients undergoing stem cell transplants. When we shared the news with the hospital, their response was simple: speechless.
It was a day filled with emotion, joy, and deep gratitude. We were honoured to be joined by the doctors and nurses who were part of Rob’s cancer journey - including Dr Sam, who shared just how life-changing these machines will be. One of the nurses spoke about how important it is to now have reliable equipment, as the old machines were over 15 years old and no longer consistently dependable.
This donation was made in loving memory of Steven McNulty. We miss him every single day, and everything we do carries a part of his generous spirit.
This achievement is a testament to the power of friendship, community, and the bond of family.
To every one of you who donated, supported, or stood by us, thank you.
You’ve helped make a real and lasting difference.
