After much painful deliberation, I find myself asking for help. Two of my dear friends have been begging me to put together this gofundme so I can move to a place that is up to code for tenants.

Recently there has been an intermittent odd odor in my in law apartment. I could never find the cause. It began getting more and more frequent. Last Friday evening when I got home it was so potent I had to take my kids and stay at a hotel for two days while I aired it out and ran an air purifier. It turns out that the property’s ancient septic system is failing. It had been backing up and it had overflowed into the leech field. My landlord told me she had it pumped but the whole system is going to have to be replaced. She told me when it is replaced it has to be placed where my son and I now park our cars; two feet away from our ground level apartment windows!

Had this Cesspool septic system not failed I would not be in this predicament of needing to move immediately and having to ask for help.

I had Covid in late December and was out of work for a week. This caused me to lose a whole paycheck so I am struggling to get caught up as it is. I am unable to come up with moving costs of first month and security for the current rental rates. I need to get my electric utility bill and propane bills to zero before moving as well. I realize there are many programs that offer assistance but any time I have called these places I am told that I make too much money to qualify for help.

My landlord is a sweet widow who has been very good to me. I have no desire to cause problems for her. I just went to get out of here before this happens again and before the digging up of the old system and installing the new system happens. Any amount is helpful and appreciated beyond words.
