Move Aisle One into Mobile

Aisle One is a single aisle mobile food market with the goal to serve the food insecure community of Youngstown, Ohio. shopping for fresh affordable food should be a local, reliable and an exceptional shopping experience.

This summer citizens experienced the equity of purchasing their groceries in the community they reside, contributing to the local economy with the same quality and convenience as the citizens of the surrounding suburbs using their own resources. We set up farmers market style providing fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, dairy and shelf stable items at set locations and times in the city. We’ve established our customer base and connected to the citizens to provide a much needed resources. It’s time to move to the next phase of our operation.

Aisle One plans to pull up to the sites we’ve been serving and add additional sites in a bus/truck that has been converted to a single aisle grocery store on wheels. The exterior of the bus will stand out with an inviting logo and fresh presence directly in our neighborhoods.

Inside, picturesque fruits and vegetables will spill out of baskets, illustrating the fresh produce inside. Shelves stocked with essential, breads, grains, and other culturally relative shelf stable choices for customers to prepare balanced meals or their families. One each merchandising cooler and freezer to display dairy, eggs, and small selection of fresh frozen meats. Residents will have the opportunity to enter two people or one family group at a time to make their selections and make purchase with pride.

Aisle One wants customers to have a similar experience as shopping at a store.
