Dearest Friends and Angels,
After two years of development and public workshops, we are thrilled to share the next major step in presenting original play, MOURNING SUNSET for two weekends this August, 2026!
We're so grateful to The Wayward Artists for sharing their home with us at the Irvine United Congregational Church, and plans - as well as production expenses - are well underway.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Please consider helping us cover our proudcion costs by becomming a sponsor and gifting a donation to our GOFUNDME campaign. Our goal is to raise our funds before June 30th so we have a month to work with our equipment and ensure everything is ready to go on August 6th.
To bring the next step in our vision to fruition we'll need to cover the following:
- Venue rental
- Insurance
- Set design elements and dressing
- Theatrical lighting and sound equipment
- Props, costumes
- Printed Materials: programs, posters, marketing
- Social media marketing campaign
- Concessions & Patron support
Our Budget to cover our expenses and any unexpected costs is $5,500.
Donations in any increment are greatly appreciated. We are equally grateful for any post, share, or word-of-mouth promotion you can provide.
It's our hope to share our project with as many people as possible, which is why we'll offer tickets for $10 cash at the door. Reservations are encouraged but not required. *Donations are not required to purchase a ticket.
Reservations for tickets are available by submitting this form.

About MOURNING SUNSET:
For two weekends this August, audiences can get to know the Wright family and witness firsthand the trials and tribulations of a family working through love, loss, lies, and ultimately, redemption.
"James Wright is in the most difficult hours of his life. Struggling to hold his young family together, he swings between managing two small children and nursing his ailing wife. Tensions mount further with the arrival of his estranged mother, and later his father, with whom he has recently healed a once strained relationship.
When the competition and decades-old animosity between his parents intensifies, James is forced to decide whether to hide behind old dynamics, or shatter dysfunctional patters from the past and break the cycle of familial trauma once and for all.
"MOURNING SUNSET explores familial grief through the lens of generational trauma. Set in Montana over the course of two days the play examines how past decisions reverberate through time, shaping relationships between parents and children; revealing how secrets can either heal or further fracture strained family bonds.
Eschewing melodrama for raw authenticity, the characters reveal their truths gradually and naturally. The result illuminates how families navigate loss while wrestling with unresolved trauma." ~ James Scarborough, What the Butler Saw
Thank you for helping us take MOURNING SUNSET to a new stage this summer!
