Mourne Mountain Ultra – 52 Miles in 12 Hours for CRS NI
On the 7th June, I’m running 52 miles over the Mourne Mountains, starting in Rostrevor, turning around in Newcastle, and finishing back where I started. The route covers over 7,000 feet of elevation, and I’m aiming to complete it in under 12 hours (though there’s every chance it’ll take closer to 14!).
I’m doing this to try and raise £1,500 for the Community Rescue Service Northern Ireland — specifically to help the Belfast team fit a defibrillator to one of their response vehicles and to buy additional throw lines and life-saving equipment.
CRS is a volunteer-run organisation that carries out search and rescue operations across Northern Ireland. Specialising in high-risk missing persons search, rescue and unfortunately sometimes recovery - they regularly respond to emergencies, often in tough conditions, and having the right kit on hand can make all the difference.
Every donation, big or small, will go directly to supporting their work. If you can spare a few quid, it would be massively appreciated.
Thanks for the support,
Jason.
