YYC Women's Emergency Shelter (formerly recording)

As I have met my mark for my recording project, I will continue to use this platform to raise funds for the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter. Many thanks! <3

I feel sheepish as I admit this is not a charitable cause, plus I realize it is indulgent.

I have become a composer late in my life and have been a one person operation, using Logic and midi to compose and record synthetic instruments. As I am not in school or affiliated with any performance groups, I have not had opportunities to hear my music performed on real instruments. Plus, I have always had a tight budget to put toward my composing. Still, it is one of my dreams to record one of my songs with real instruments.

For $2, the price of buying a single song on iTunes or $5, buying me a coffee, you could contribute to me realizing my dream. I have found 3 string players and am recording on December 17th. I will do this no matter what and I am asking for your help.

Here is the budget:

3x string players - $200 each

1x recording/mixing engineer - $330

TOTAL: $930

Mountaintop was inspired when I was going through a very tough time when my relationship unexpectedly came to a sudden close. I wanted to put to music a place in the world where I felt the most happy, safe, cared for and content. To me this is the top of a mountain. The cello represents me, as I 'bumble' my way through life, never quite certain where I am headed next. The piano is the gentle breeze that one picks up on a mountaintop. The viola is the view, looking back on the path you've traveled, feeling your accomplishments and your struggles along the way. The violin is the view in a new direction.

My suggested donation is $2 or $5.

If you would like to donate more, here are some gifts I propose to contribute in return for your donation:

$50 - one 30 minute piano lesson

$100 - one 60 minute piano lesson OR one hour of live piano music at your home or the venue of your choice

$200 - your own personal instrumental composition
