Hello! My name is Riley Meggers. I am asking for money because I am going on a huge trip from Colorado to Montana all the way to Washington and to finish out, the Oregon coast. Our plans are to first drive to Montana to explore Glacier National Park to explore some of the most scenic physically demanding hikes.

Next on the itinerary we are headed to Northern Cascades National Park in Washington to conquer one of the most treacherous glaciated climbs known as Mount Shuksan. Mount Shuksan will be an acclimatization pre-requisite to the biggest climb of the whole trip.... Mount Rainier. Mount Rainier is an ice capped dormant volcano in Washington known for its unforgiving terrain and severe weather. It is the highest point in the Northern Cascades and the beginning of a mountaineers career. Me and my partner Sam will be conquering this peak together, unguided. Mount Rainier is 14,411 feet, it will take around 3 days to climb, and we will have to start in Paradise Washington and gain over 9000 feet to the summit.

We have been relentlessly training during our college semesters, balancing school and pushing ourselves to our breaking points in our training workouts. We are committed and we will get the summit that we have been training for. We have the skillsets, we've taken the crevasse and avalanche safety classes, and the route is burned into our brains. There is nothing Mount Rainier could throw at us that we are not prepared for...... we are ready.

After our successful summit of Mount Rainier we will end the trip by touring the Oregon coast to celebrate our successful summit.
