Mountain View Community Center has hosted the Back to School Backpack and BBQ event for years. After covid, we went to just donating backpacks. This year we're bringing back the BBQ! Our goal each year is to serve 1000 students and families in need. Our community loves to help each other out and to help keep costs down we would thought we'd try a crowd source option. Any funds raised will be going towards the BBQ. We will be buying hot dogs, buns, chips locally to serve on Saturday Aug. 23. We've partnered with another local church and they have been gracious enough to prepare the food for the event. I am one of the lead volunteers for the event and I've never done this before. Our community said they wanted to help so I'm going to give it a try!! Any remaining funds will go to the community center for backpacks once food has been procured. Thanks neighbors!!
