MOUNT ZION 7TH DAY CHURCH OF GOD
(UK INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE)
333a SYDENHAM ROAD, CROYDON, CR0 2EL
Hi there,
My name is Sister Iris, and along with Sister Tamara, we oversee the Fundraising Department at our church and invite donors to help raise funds. The fundraising ministry has successfully raised thousands of pounds over the past 7 years for the church, and it has been inspiring and joyful to see participants supporting God's work and mission. Our goal is to move people to give joyfully, fostering a culture of generosity and spiritual growth amongst givers and the ministry.
WHY ARE WE FUNDRAISING?
During the summer months, our temple becomes extremely hot, and the only way to solve the problem of removing the excessive heat is to use a cooling down split air-conditioning unit, which improves and regulates temperature within the room.
In August 2025, our International President and Presiding Bishop E.S.Henry announced that two new Air- Conditioning Units were to be installed to provide a comfortable environment for worship and to ensure better health for our congregants and visitors.
FOCUS OVERVIEW
Our congregation consists of various age groups, namely, young children, youth, adults, and the elderly. Hot conditions are distracting, and at times, this prevents our brethren from focusing on spiritual practices and sermons. Dehydration can also occur because our body's primary cooling mechanism in hot conditions is to perspire, which results in loss of water, salt, and minerals from the body.
Extreme heat can also pose health risks, especially for vulnerable individuals like the elderly, the sick, and young children.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
The ceiling fans which were already installed works well with the air conditioning unit to make the room feel cooler more efficiently, allowing us to raise the thermostat settings which saves energy and reduces wear on the air conditioning unit. The fan creates a breeze that helps dissipate body heat, evaporates perspiration, and it circulates the cool air from the air conditioning more evenly throughout the temple, preventing hot spots.
PURCHASING THE AIR CONDITIONING UNITS
Money was borrowed to purchase the air conditioning units to accommodate us during our annual conference, therefore, the sum of £7,000 has to be repaid by means of us fundraising.
Unfortunately, we were not able to receive external funding. Therefore, we are looking to our fellow brethren, family, and friends to come together and assist with raising funds.

MAKE A PLEDGE WHICH IS AFFORDABLE TO YOU
Our aim is to treat everyone fairly when we ask for a pledge. We have an awareness that financial situations can be challenging to some of you. Therefore, we are not fundraising to pressure anyone to give out of duress but from the heart.
A pledge is a serious formal promise to give a specified amount of money often over a period of time rather than an immediate gift. The act of pledging signifies a commitment, similar to a word of honour, that motivates individuals to fulfil their promise by the agreed upon terms.
We are asking for a pledge of £100 from the brethren (which includes a single payment of £100 from a married household). If you are not in a financial situation to make a pledge of £100, then please see the fundraising team to discuss the matter.
You may pay £100 in one go. Alternatively, we also offer an arrangement to pay over a period of time, which is 5 months.
Example Of Instalments Available
£5.00 per week x 20 payments = £100
£10.00 per week x 10 payments = £100
£15.00 per week x 7 payments = £105 (only £100 required)
£20.00 per month x 5 payments = £100
£25.00 per month x 4 payments = £100
£30 x 4 instalments = £120 (only £100 is required)
£40 x 3 instalments = £120 (only £100 is required)
£50 x 2 instalments = £100
*Also available your preferred way to pay £100 within 5 months*
