Hello! I am a Mount Baker alumni and current student in the education program at UVic. when I attended Mount Baker I was so blessed to be given the opportunity to participate in the Outdoor Skills and Education program. This innovative program combines geography, leadership and many other cross curriculars with the benefits of learning in and about nature. I have chaperoned many trips post-grad and have both experienced and witnessed the countless possibilities this program opens up for students, whether its learning about geography and different earth sciences, how we can reduce our environmental impact, or even leading kids towards unique career paths. I was so grateful to get to interview the teacher who makes it all happen as we discussed what she loves about this program and some of the challenges she faces.
