Help Jennifer and Clove Find a Safe Home on Wheels

Five months ago, I reached out to my community with a dream:

to create a safe little home on wheels for myself and my beloved cat, Clove.

Because of your incredible and gracious generosity, that dream briefly became reality. Together, we purchased a 1983 GMC motorhome and began the process of transforming it into a small sanctuary. The potential was right there. It was to be a place where we were able to rest, create art, and continue my work as a death worker and community listener.

I honor the tenderness that helped us get that far every morning.

The road decided to throw some unexpected turns, as it does.

After a brief month of repairs, uncertainty, and doing my absolute very best to keep moving forward, the motorhome’s engine failed beyond repair. We had to let it go.

Today, Clove and I are beginning again. This is a story about a home.

We are currently living between a small sedan and a tent while searching for a reliable vehicle that can become our safe, sturdy home. It is a humbling and difficult chapter, but there is hope, gratitude, and the belief that community care can help us cross this extraordinary threshold.

The goal is simple and achievable:

Find and obtain a dependable vehicle where Clove and I can live safely, sleep securely, and rebuild stability.

A safe, mobile, vehicle home allows me to continue my work through Under The Root by creating art, offering deathcare companionship, and documenting the ways humans care for one another through life's natural transitions.

Your direct support helps with:

• Finding and preparing a reliable vehicle

• Immediate needs while we transition

• Repairs, maintenance, and safety improvements

• Creating a stable foundation for our next chapter

MILESTONE GOAL POSTS

First Light Goal: $4,800

Next Root Goal: $7,500

Full Lantern Goal: $13,500

Clove has been my companion through every bit of these changes. She has adapted like a superstar, through unfamiliar places, long days, and uncertain nights. My dearest and deepest hope is to give her a place where she can stretch, sleep peacefully, and know that we have arrived somewhere safe.

If you feel called to contribute, share our story, pass along ideas or connections, and simply send encouragement, these acts of tenderness matter deeply.

Thank you to everyone who helped us during the first chapter. You helped us believe that a more sturdy future was possible. It is because of you that we are holding tight to the belief that it absolutely is possible.

Now, we are asking for help finding the road home.
