Motorcycle versus a mattress at highway speeds.

Friends and family, My name is Charles (Chuck) Hodges. I stand as humble and happy as a man/father could be, Thank You lord for helping me survive this crash and allowing me more time here on this earth. I am starting this Gofundme account to get some help while recovering from a motorcycle accident that occurred on September 1st. I was headed to see my daughter in the hospital, traveling Ga 400 south around 10:45am. Someone lost a mattress from the bed of a pickup truck(according to witnesses). I didn’t see the the mattress until the work van in front of me ran it over. Witnesses said that I hit the mattress and then rolled 14 to 16 times once I hit the ground. The truck did not stop, and so far we have no idea who it was that lost the mattress. I am being told that the camera system on the highway is only a live feed, and that it doesn’t record. The injuries that I have are pretty severe. Dislocated my shoulder, broken scapula, multiple fractures around where the ball goes into the shoulder, I have lost a tooth, and broken some teeth. I am pretty sure that the lost tooth is the one that punctured through my upper lip. The road rash OMG, it hurts. I am sure that there are details that I have missed. I don’t mind answering any questions that anyone may have about the crash. My daughter is home now, she tested positive for COVID and has been treated and released.
