Mothers speak out about injustice faced by sons

Donation protected
We are a group of ordinary women whose sons have faced extraordinary ordeals in our unfair, anti-male legal systems and workplaces.

Our new website – Mothers of Sons – shares our stories to expose what is happening to men and boys in this country.

Meet Jo Thomson-Jones

Jo’s granddaughter was murdered when the child’s mother lost custody to her son.

After years of court hearings, a Family Court judge finally gave custody of three-year-old Ilya to Jo’s son Nathan, who had long been the primary carer for the child. The Judge announced his decision to Ilya’s mother Tamara by telephone. The next day she killed the toddler.

Jo has joined Mothers of Sons to speak out about the prejudice and injustice Nathan experienced in the Family Court which for years ignored evidence from its own experts showing this violent mother posed risks for Ilya.

“There’s one rule for women and another for men,” says Jo, in the moving video she has made for Mothers of Sons about her son’s ordeal, shown above.

Meet Michelle Jones

Then there’s Michelle Jones, whose son Daniel was wrongly imprisoned following false rape accusations by his ex-fiancé, Sarah Jane Parkinson. Parkinson’s story was featured in an extraordinary 60 Minutes  full hour programme.

Michelle Jones has joined our team to expose the appalling treatment experienced by Daniel and so many other men and boys in our society.

Mothers facing many ordeals

Some of our mothers have helped their sons fight mighty battles for justice in family, magistrates and other criminal courts. Women need no evidence to make accusations of violence or sexual abuse that deprive men of their children, their homes, careers, and futures.

Some have spent their life savings protecting sons from false sexual assault allegations, paying a huge mental and financial toll to prove the charges had not substance.

Other sons are experiencing discrimination in the workplace or in educational institutions. Some face #MeToo accusations, where unproven allegations can undermine a lifetime’s achievement, loss of career and reputation.

There are also sons who are are victims, physically and emotionally abused by their partners - yet they are offered no protection nor support and are often disbelieved.

Help support Mothers of Sons

Funds raised for MOS will pay for the creation of our new website, ongoing hosting fees and advertising costs. The mothers have all been contributing their time on a voluntary basis to get MOS started but now we need some basic funding to launch our exciting venture.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be most gratefully received.

Help us make sure Mothers of Sons becomes a huge success and receives the attention it deserves – so that the voices of mothers can tell the real story.
