Mother’s Day Fire…Help Kris and Ralph!

Hello, my name is Barbara Burtnett and I started this Go Fund Me page to try to help a very dear friend, Kris Pierce and Ralph Held after a tragic accident causing a huge fire and propane tank explosions at McDermott Lakefront Campground at Berlin Reservoir.

The fire started very early on Sunday, May 8th---Mother's Day. Kris had to run through the fire on the deck of the camper and crawl over a gas grill. Ralph pulled Kris over the railing, saving her life! Both were severely burned suffering 2nd and 3rd degree burns and have required surgery and skin grafts. They are both hospitalized at Akron Children's Hospital Burn Unit.

Kris is a Respiratory Therapist of 24 years at Aultman Alliance Hospital. As a front line worker, she has helped countless people and undoubtedly has had a hand in saving many lives. Recently being hands on during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Ralph has been a driver for Levin Furniture for 17 years but due to the Pandemic shut down, lost his job. He had recently been working as a masonry laborer at Johnson Masonary.

Please consideration a donation to help these two wonderful people get through this devastating chapter in their lives. Good thoughts and prayers are also kindly appreciated. In a split second an accident can happen to any of us and change our lives forever.
