Mother’s Courage: Cancer Care of Undocu daughter
Donation protected
My mother is a woman of unwavering strength, resilience, and grace. A devoted mother, a selfless friend, and a pillar of her children, she has spent her life giving to us, my brother and me, always putting our needs above her own. Now, as she faces the most challenging battle of her life—stage 4 ovarian cancer—her indomitable spirit continues to shine, even in the face of unimaginable hardship.
Born in South Korea to a poor family of seven, my mom was the oldest of five children, where she learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion. As a young woman, she dedicated herself to her family of seven, not only to support her family but also to make a difference in the lives of those she served. Her kindness and dedication touched many, and she became known for her generosity and unwavering support for those in need.
As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide a loving home for us. Despite the challenges she faced, she always ensured that her family had everything they needed—love, encouragement, and a strong foundation for the future. She sacrificed so much for us, the best opportunities possible, never once complaining, always finding a way to make things work.
In early 2021, in the midst of the worldwide pandemic, we received the devastating news of her stage 4 ovarian cancer diagnosis. Despite the prognosis, she approached her illness with the same courage and grace that have defined her entire life. She has undergone a 10-hour debulking surgery, enduring immense physical and emotional pain, numerous treatments, and five rounds of chemo in the last four years. Yet she continues to fight with a strength that inspires everyone around her. Even in her most difficult moments, she remains a source of love and wisdom, offering kind words and encouragement to those who come to visit her.
Now facing the realities of the end of this journey and her encroaching terminal illness, we are in need of your support to ease her journey. Your donation would provide crucial assistance for her hospice care at home, allowing her to focus on her well-being, allow for me to quit my job to care for her at home full-time, for her to make the most of her remaining time with her children and ones she loves, without the added burden of financial stress or going into debt.
My mother's legacy is one of love, resilience, and selflessness. She has given so much to us, her children, her family, and now, as she walks this difficult path, we hope to give back to her in return.
