Mother's Care Needs

Hello my name is Zsa Zsa,

On behalf of my brother Troy, Shyaam, and myself: I’m writing to all those who know our mother Gail McElhannon, and those who may not know this amazing woman who loves the Lord with all her heart mind and soul. She has been such an inspiration to many others. She started out her ministry with the idea of starting her own business at Tina Mac’s Group Home for teenage male wards of the court in LA County for 15 years. Later in her life always gave to other who where in need, and most recent ministry witnessing to customer service reps on Amazon; and always making sure everyone she came in contact with sharing the gospel, Gods truth, and the 10 Commandments .

Our mother recently moved in with Shyaam, prior to her accident. She was so excited to move in with his family, daughter-in-law, Fayth and her 1 ½ year old grand-daughter. She looked forward to having a mini version of her own place and independence. In spite of being legally blind she took care of herself, cooked and took her walks.

On March 2, 2023 Gail after returning from the restroom early in the morning attempting to get into her bed she fell and broke her hip. Paramedics took her to the hospital where she had surgery later that evening. During her hospital stay she coded twice – nonresponsive, and not breathing, and a couple of days later she had a stroke that affected her left side of her body and ability to walk, speech, and swallow.

Our mother was discharged from the hospital about three weeks ago. She has made progress, but still has a way to go. Her current insurance provides limited therapy, and services. My brothers and I are working together to get the help she needs with care and our finances. Our mother now requires 24-7 supervision, and Shyaam has his own unexpected health care concerns, and he is not able to work at this time needing some relief and assistance with her care. She has a high share of monthly costs for her medical care that has been challenging. Our mother is currently waiting for approval for IHSS personal care services which has been a very a slow process and has limitations. For these reasons we are humbly requesting Facebook family to provide any financial donations to assist us with her care and your prayers for mom’s and Shyaam’s healing would be gratefully appreciated. We are encouraged by faith to honor our mother’s wishes not to be placed in CNH and to remain at home. Monies will go to the following:
