Mother Passed Away from Stage 4 Cancer
Original Post
My name is Steven. My mother, Brenda, has sadly been diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer which is now in multiple locations in her body. Primarily the lung, adrenal glands, liver, and even in the brain.
We know science has come a long way, but while we hope for the best, we also have to expect and prepare for the worst. During which we found out she does not have any life insurance to cover the expenses that will arise.
In preparation of the worst, we will need to raise money for anything needed during treatment and for the inevitably of her passing, which we are praying isn’t too soon. That said; our family is living on the most extreme side of low income with our household barely making $20,000 a year split among three people as my mother being disabled and I am unfortunately unable to work as I am her caregiver. My wife is the breadwinner in this case, but she is only a cashier and that can only make ends meet to a certain extent.
We understand these expenses aren’t going to come cheap; so sadly we are asking for a goal of $10,000. This would also help cover any possible unforeseen issues as well. We know that this amount is in no way a small number; this is our first time dealing with something on this level and so we'd like to be prepared. We at least need $7,000 to deal with said burial costs; with anything extra helping make life easier for all of us.

This part is an addendum to the original post. Sadly at this point my mother has passed away (as shown in updates below). I am adding this portion to both thank everyone who has donated so far and continue to as our struggle is far from over. Now we look towards the aftermath of her sudden passing and try to take care of what remains of her estate; which is not a lot, but does require an attorney due to the nature of them. Along with dealing with her estate; we are coming to the point we may even lose our house due to how things have progressed as it was under her name. With that said, when I was caring for her while she was still alive, we were making enough to pay for all the bills and so forth... however now that she is gone there is a vacuum. I have come to realize that I am in worse shape physically than I originally thought which now leads me to being unable to work. As a result; I am most likely filing for Disability shortly, but during that lengthy process, we will still need help taking care of things. That is why we are continuing this GoFundMe as well.
