In October 2016 I was deployed while serving our country. My amazing wife had been holding down the house while I was away and went in to get her checkup, she was 39 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. On that day our lives changed forever. While getting her check up her doctor discovered
a lump, and ordered an immediate biopsy, rushed the results, and sprung terrible news on is all within 24 hr period. He had discovered cervical cancer, he ordered an emergency C section the next day to deliver my son. I received a redcross message and was on a flight back to the states that same night. After 6 months of treatments and many expenses my wife was told the cancer was gone. Our bank accounts were empty but she was ready to start living her life again. Two great years went by, things were finally getting back to normal. We had just moved to a new duty stationand were already struggling with all the expenses of moving. Once we arrived she found her new doctor and went in for a check up. Unfortunately this time the news was bad. We were told she had three small lumps in her lungs, upon examination and another biopsy, it was discovered the spots were cancerous, and she would have to start fighting for her life again. We still struggle to this day trying to get by,we sacrificed so much and emptied our bank accounts in 2016, we just ask for a litttle help paying for the little things our family needs to get through the holidays. Thank god the military has amazing health insurance but they can’t help with everything else. Not exactly the way we wanted to spend thanksgiving. Thank you in advance and god bless.
