Mother of 3 involved in a Motorcycle accident

Hi, My name is Brock. I am 15 & am doing this fundraiser to help my Mother, Amanda Westcott.

 

On March 2, 2022, my mom was in a terrible motorcycle accident and was in the Trauma ICU. Mom has now been in the Hospital for a month and we have definitely seen many improvements. On March 22nd she was moved to the Sheppard Center in Atlanta for rehabilitation from her Stroke that was caused by the Trauma of the accident. Since being there, they have found that her vocal cords are damaged from the emergency intubation from the Hospital and she will undergoing surgery on 4/7 where they will be putting in a stent to try and open the passage way. She currently only has about 75% of her voice. She has regained decent movement of her right leg, but zero movement of her right Arm. They say that it could possibly take up to 2 years of therapy to regain movement if any at all. Yesterday 4/4 they also found that her right foot is fractured. So the therapy that began last week will now have to be pushed back another 6 weeks. Myself and brothers were able to see her right before she moved to the Sheppard center and we have been able to visit her once this past week, but only from outside the fence. We are very thankful for everyone's are and support through all of this! 

 

We are doing this to help with medical bills & pay household bills while she is in the hospital. Once she gets out of the hospital, the doctors expect that she will need PT and probably won't be able to work for a while. She was a nurse before this. We want to be able to take care of her the way she's taken care of us & all of her patients.
