On Sunday, September 8th 2020 (Labor Day Weekend) Fernanda decided to go to Folsom lake with her family and enjoy some fun in the water. They were all enjoying the kids, jet skis and tubing in the water. Later on in the day, Fernanda was unfortunately in a tragic accident where she was on the tube and when she hit a harsh wave, she fell off and her words: " felt [her] back break". She was not able to walk after or put pressure on her legs. Her pain level was increasing and she could not move so this led her to go to the ER. She ended up getting X-Rays done as well as a CT scan. The results showed
she fractured 3 discs in her spine. She was immediately admitted to the hospital and began being treated by a handful of RNs, a Neurologist, a Trauma Doctor and a Physical Therapist. After a long 10 hours, she was told she wouldn’t be needing back surgery but will need to be in a customized back brace for at least 12 weeks and, depending on how her body heals, she will need a physical therapist afterwards as well. Fernanda is a hardworking, dedicated mom of two young children, ages 3 and 2 months old. She has her own cleaning business that involves labor which she physically cannot do right now which means she is temporarily out of work/income. She is never the one to ask for help and never thought she would be in this situation but life happened. Some things are out of our control and, as her friend, I ask your help in supporting her with help regarding loss of wages and medical bill costs that her insurance will not cover. Her loving husband will be taking some additional time off of work as well to help aide her in her recovery and to take care of their 2 kids. It is going to be very hard on their finances-- especially since he has already used all of his accrued paid time off at work to have baby bonding time with their newborn son. Please remember,
ANYTHING helps. We ask that you find it in your hearts to help support in some way; whether it be a donation, a prayer or even a share. Every action will be greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. We are all wishing Fernanda a speedy recovery and thank you for taking the time out of your day to hear her story. Blessings to all.
