Mother needs help with stage 4 ovarian cancer

Donation protected
Hello friends! I am seeking your support and prayers for my dear friend, Linda Cooksey. Linda is a loving wife to her high school sweetheart, Andy and mother to Maura, age 10 and Alec, age 12, who attend Medina City Schools. Linda works as a school based Occupational Therapist in the Buckeye school district, helping children ages 2-23 with identified special needs. She previously worked in the Highland School District, Medina Hospital and Summa Health System.

Linda was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in December 2021. Prognosis remains poor with less than 30% of women surviving 5 years. Since 2021, she has tried (and failed) 3 chemo regimens plus a big surgery. As she waits to see if she qualifies for other treatments and /or a clinical trial, she’s currently looking to try some alternative methods of treatment to help with her diagnosis. Unfortunately, these methods are not covered by insurance and can be very costly. Any donations would help with covering the cost of treatments, helping to cover bills, and attempting to maintain her children’s normal way of life. Linda has had to reduce her work due to the demands of treatment and keeping up with daily life.

Linda is Catholic and believes in the power of God’s healing and in the power of prayer. She is a member of the St. Martin’s parish in Valley City. I ask that you please share this link with others to rally our prayer warriors together for Linda and her family. We believe in miracles and we know that mustard seed of faith can move mountains.

Linda is inspired by the vibrance of her children and the hope of seeing and being a part of their future. As Maura says, “You need to focus on the now and not the tomorrow.”

“There will be moments in life when things feel bigger than our capacity to handle. Moments where things realistically won’t work out. You know just how it is. You know. And maybe it feels like this hard thing that will never end. Like deliverance will never come. That miracles have ceased on earth. Those are the moments when you must look for a tiny glimmer of hope. There are times when you must whisper the truth found in Jeremiah 32:7 “Nothing is too hard for my God.” Against hope, believe in hope my dear friend. He is bigger than this. Nothing is too hard for Him. Everyone else might say this time for miracles is past. But God.”
