Strickly Queen is a holistic well-being community for Black women in the UK, founded by Ukaylah, and dedicated to elevation, healing, and sisterhood.
After personally experiencing the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl in 2024 while heavily pregnant, Ukaylah witnessed first-hand how disasters can severely affect mothers and infants, from the loss of basic necessities to the absence of safe facilities and emergency care. These experiences inspired her to propose a Mother and Children Mobile Care Service, designed to offer immediate relief and ongoing support to women and families in crisis.
Now, with Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm! the strongest in Jamaica’s recorded history! the need for this support has become even more urgent. Jamaica’s fragile infrastructure and limited access to reliable maternal care and disaster relief have left many families struggling to recover on their own.
In response, Strickly Queen has launched the Mother & Infant Post-Hurricane Relief Fund. a dedicated initiative providing care packages, food, and essentials to pregnant women and mothers with young children, focusing first on the most affected rural areas, beginning with St Elizabeth.
The goal is to raise £5,000 to cover the cost of shipping barrels of food and supplies from the UK, including exporting, importing, transportation, and goods. This marks the organization’s first major fundraising drive — a campaign to reach its first Jamaican million in support of women and infants in need.
Donations Needed:
• Dried food
• Clothing
• Medical supplies
• Toiletries
• Baby food and diapers
• Volunteer daily expense funds
• Ground provisions
Suggested Items Include:
• Diapers & wipes
• Sanitary and cleaning products
• Baby vests, blankets, and other essentials
• Items that bring care, comfort, and dignity to mothers and their babies
This initiative is rooted in community and compassion, ensuring that during one of the most challenging times imaginable, no mother is left without the essentials she and her child deserve.
Who the Funds Are For
The funds are being raised to support mothers and young children in Jamaica who have been affected by Hurricane Melissa (2025) — especially those in rural areas like St. Elizabeth, where access to aid is limited.
How Funds will be used :
This fundraiser is organised by Ukaylah Campbell (based in the UK). I will be receiving the donations directly to manage the purchasing and shipping process on behalf of communities in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
How the funds will be used:
1. To purchase supplies locally in the UK — including food, sanitation items, toiletries, barrels, and containers.
2. To cover shipment and clearance costs for sending the supplies to Jamaica.
All payments will be made through reliable and verified suppliers and shipping companies. Shipments will be sent directly to Kingston, Jamaica, where they will be collected and distributed within hurricane-affected areas by local organisations, volunteers, and community centres , including the Women’s Centre in St. Elizabeth, focusing on mothers, children, and families in need.
All purchases, payments, and shipments will be handled transparently and documented.
I am not raising these funds for myself. The donations are for families and individuals in need in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, with plans to support other affected areas as the project grows.
Give thanks for your support and kindness.
Regular updates and reports will be shared on our Strickly Queen platforms to ensure full transparency and accountability
Every donation, no matter how small brings real relief and comfort to a family in need. Together, we can make a tangible difference for the mothers and infants of Jamaica during this time.
Thank you for standing in love and solidarity.
