We’re taking the Leap for an Incredible Cause!

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer, I’m thrilled to be taking on a skydiving challenge alongside my daughter, Demi — All in support of a cause that’s incredibly close to our hearts.

On Sunday 17th August we are jumping out of a plane to raise funds for the Mark Lynn CHD Foundation, a fantastic Ballymena-based charity that supports families with children and teenagers living with lifelong chronic illnesses/disabilities.

Donna Lynn, the founder of the Mark Lynn CHD Foundation was inspired to start the charity almost 5 years ago after tragically losing her own son Mark from congenital heart disease aged just 8 years. As Donna would testify having a child with a chronic illness/disability with no cure is a lifelong 24/7 commitment. There are no easy answers, only care & support and that’s exactly what The Mark Lynn CHD Foundation offer. Donna and her mighty team of volunteers pours so much love, time & effort into the charity every single day of every single week. This gives parents a much needed avenue of support at times when they feel there is no one else to turn too. The charity receives no funding and rely solely on fundraising and donations. Their dedication inspires us, and we’re honoured to do our bit.

Our journey with the Mark Lynn Foundation began a few years ago after Demi connected with one of their volunteers during a school lunch break. She was eager to take part in a skydive even back then, but she was too young. We made a promise we’d do it when the time was right. In the meantime, our family business, The Sportshut in Cullybackey, became a proud supporter of the foundation. We’ve hosted Easter, Christmas, and themed parties, and together, we helped launch Buddy Days, where our teenage staff and friends spend time playing with the kids — giving parents a well-deserved breather and a chance to connect.
