Help a Mother Battling Cancer & Her Son Save Their Home
My name is Deenah , and I am honestly reaching out to ask for your support on behalf of a devoted mother and her adult son who are facing one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
This mother is courageously battling cancer while also trying to keep her family together under one roof. Since February, she has undergone two surgeries and months of chemotherapy. As of her last scan, no cancer is currently present—but she is not out of the woods yet. She is anxiously awaiting the results of her next scan, praying that she will finally be declared 100% cancer-free. In addition, she is dealing with other serious health challenges, including heart disease and thyroid issues.
Due to her illness, she has been placed on disability, which provides only a fraction of the income needed to survive. Her son, who has been her primary support, is also facing medical challenges of his own following a serious car accident that kept him out of work for months. Until recently, he was employed in the towing industry, but with the slow season, his hours were cut and eventually eliminated. He is now unemployed, doing gig work to cover only their most basic necessities while actively searching for stable employment that will not put further strain on his health.
Despite their relentless efforts to stay afloat, the bills have become overwhelming. They currently owe:
$5,800 in rent (past due, with eviction already filed)
$560 in utilities (gas, water, and electric)
They have reached out to multiple churches, community agencies, and nonprofits for assistance, but have either been turned away due to lack of funds or placed on long waiting lists. With time running out, this mother is desperately trying to hold on to her home for herself and her son.
How Donations Will Be Used
Your donations will go directly toward keeping this family housed and safe:
$5,800 – Rent
This will immediately stop the eviction process and give them the chance to stay in their home.
$560 – Utilities
To restore their accounts, keep the lights and water on, and ensure they have the basic necessities of daily life.
Any additional support will go toward groceries, transportation to medical appointments, and other urgent living expenses that continue to pile up.
Why This Matters
This is more than just paying bills—it’s about giving a family hope during an overwhelming season. A mother fighting cancer should not also have to fight the fear of homelessness. A son who is caring for his mother while managing his own health struggles should not have to wonder if tonight will be their last night under a safe roof.
When families like this reach a point of desperation, it is the compassion of the community that can change the outcome. Every dollar donated is not just money—it is a message that they are not alone, that people care, and that their fight is worth standing behind.
