Being diagnosed with breast cancer is hard, but imagine after having your Mastectomy, you are told by your Doctor that he found cancer cells in your uterus and you need a total Hysterectomy. This all happened in a 3 month timeframe!
Hello everyone, We are middle class family that enjoys family, friends and life! We live moderately and enjoy the simple things of life. I’m sure like most families, we can never be prepared mentally, physically and financially for unexpected life’s changing events. Rosie is a mother of 3, and my soul mate. I do not know what to do without her. She is our family’s foundation, rock and stable force! In late August we got a jolting news, she has cancer! It divested her, myself and our entire family. Her family does not have a history of cancer so this news was just a complete shock to all of us. Her surgery was scheduled a month later. We were preparing ourselves mentally to what comes after surgery. While waiting for her surgery she visited her doctor, and it was discovered that she had abnormal tissues on her uterus walls. The Doctor decided to perform surgery on her uterus to remove a polyp and to scrape the uterus. The surgery was 6 days prior to her Mastectomy. We asked the Doctor, why didn’t he do the surgery the same time as her Mastectomy, the doctors said that her body is going through too much already and he didn’t want to complicate anything. It took her 3 days to recover 85% of her strength before her Mastectomy. On Oct 2, she had a mastectomy, they also removed a few of her lymph nodes from her axillary area, the entire surgery was scheduled for 5 hours but ended up close to 7 hours. She remained in the hospital for 3 days due to some complications, before she was allowed to come home. She has been recovering for over 5 weeks from both surgeries. Her doctor came back with the results of her uterus surgery and now he is recommending a complete hysterectomy. Besides the biopsy-surgery, a 2 Lumpectomies, her uterus and a mastectomy within 3 months, now she has to have a complete hysterectomy. She is my hero for keeping everything together and for keeping her faith! Unfortunately, her company just laid her off. We have been able to work through the mental and physical challenges, we now need help with the financial side. If you can donate, I appreciate, if you can’t, I understand. We all have our own challenges and daily struggles! Have a great day and may your life be filled with joy and happiness
Update: 11/8. Rosie’s Birthday in the hospital with a complete hysterectomy surgery. We are still in the hospital resting and hope to go home today. We are preparing for her recovery time and years of cancer treatment.
Thank you
Darren
