Mother and son hit by drunk driver

On November 20th my mom was picking up my brother from work. On their way home they were hit by a drunk driver. A drunk driver who has five previous drinking and drug related traffic offenses and a suspended license. A person who should have been locked up on any of those prior charges and had no right to even be out on the streets to let this happen. This man was evading police in a chase when this incident occurred. They were T-boned by him at a speed of roughly 70 miles per hour. They are lucky to be alive but their injuries are extensive. She has broken bones in her hand, several spinal fractures, several pelvic fractures and her tailbone is split in half. My brother has countless stitches in his head and face. He also has fractures in his neck that will likely require surgery and will definitely keep him in a neck brace for a long period of time.
My mom is such an amazing person. She raised 10 children. Not to mention all of the kids she’s taken under her wing at different times in their lives. She homeschools one grandchild and provides daycare for two other grandchildren while their parents are at work. She is the most giving, caring, selfless person I’ve ever met. My brother can only be described as a gentle giant. He is dedicated and loyal and the kindest person you could ever know. They both live their lives dedicated to family and help others in any way they can.
As I write this, they are laying in hospital beds in a trauma ward. They will recover. Our family was lucky in that regard but we know the road ahead is long. The bills that will come at the end of that road are ever present on our minds. My mom is not a person who would ever ask for this kind of help - she’s the person who would give it. So I’m asking on behalf of them both. I cannot even begin to imagine what these medical costs will amount to. If you can help us chip away at these medical bills, please do.
