Indigenous Mother Daughter Leaving Abusive Home
Donation protected
I am a single indigenous mother who recently relocated to CA with my 15 year old indigenous daughter. We relocated so that my daughter could attend the best art school in the country. She worked her entire life for the auditions to make it in to this school and she did it! one of 140 freshman. We moved here thinking we were starting a family with my boyfriend of 8 years, that was 5 months ago, the abuse has been emotional the entire relationship but after the move to CA it escalated quickly and became emotional, verbal and physical. I moved to CA after graduating college during covid, i did not have a job when i moved to CA but started working Uber eats so I would be able to hold my own, none of these things worked and it continued to escalate in every way possible. 12/30/21 we were kicked out of our home after returning from a 2 hour mall trip with my daughter and her friend, we got a hotel for the night and returned the next morning, when we came into the house he called the police on us and made us leave our home again after getting in my daughters face and screaming horrible things at her. I was able to send my daughter to stay with family so she could feel safe and I could start working on a exit plan. Since we are on a lease together I thought it would be complicated but its not complicated to sign him off, just to take over all the expenses on my own. He has a very good job and picked this place because it was close to my daughters school, only 4 miles away, the monthly rent is $3500, my portion is half of that. It has been difficult enough trying to figure my half out but now i am on the hook for $3500 a month for rent plus all other household expenses until i can either find a room mate or the lease ends 7/6/22. I have interviewed with a tech company and i am interested in remote positions if anyone can also help with that. I am asking for 10,000 to cover my bills for a couple of months so that i dont have to put my daughter through anymore stress while i am focusing on getting our lives back together. I know that this is a really difficult time for everyone, probably the most difficult but i am asking for help for my daughters future. she deserves this! She is everything to me and I need help.
Thank you for your time
