We rent a suite (below market rates) to a lovely family who fled the war in Ukraine a few years ago. I just found out that the mother and little boy (whose smile lights up the room) were injured in a hit and run on March 17 in the community of Ogden, Calgary. The little boy seems okay now physically and hopefully he doesn't have lasting effects of trauma. The mom took the brunt of the impact and had severe bruising all over her body - luckily no broken bones and was only able to return to her work a couple of weeks later. Neither the mom or dad have employers who offer extended health care benefits and so they had to pay the approx $1000 fee for the ambulance not to mention the lost wages. I'm setting up this GoFundMe to help them out as we all know the cost of living these days is getting worse.
