Help Mother & 8yr old recover from apartment fire
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Kimberly.
I am a single mother of an eight year old little girl. We have been dealing with loss after loss. In all honestly I feel as though we have been on a continuous roller coaster this year.
My daughter and I spent all of last year battling homelessness. We finally got stable four days before the Christmas of 2022. Starting fresh in a new city and being unfamiliar with anyone and anything was very hard. Especially with no support system. But we did it.
In April of this year my mother who lives on the streets and battles with her mental health and drug addiction was found unconscious. She was eventually diagnosed with stage four kidney failure. Two months later (Father’s Day to be exact) my daughter and I found my mother unconscious again, she was hospitalized and we started to plan in home hospice to care for her last months. She ultimately decided she didn’t want treatment or hospice and choose to go back to the streets.
Though this was devastating I picked up and continued on with prayer for her.
On August 13th my daughters father passed away. Though we had been preparing for this moment, we still were very unprepared for how it would affect our hearts.
August 28th his mother was placed on hospice.
September 5th, while out of town to visit both his mother and mine we got a call that our apartment had been caught on fire. Everything I’ve worked so hard to build has been completely wiped away. My daughter lost her fathers keepsakes, I lost my fathers keepsakes (his birthday just happened to be September 6th, the day after the fire) and all childhood/family photos and much much more.
Through all of these losses my daughter and I still remain positive. We know that there is not any obstacle we can’t conquer.
But this time around it is much harder.
I have made the go fund me in hopes to get help to rebuild everything we lost in the fire.
All donations will go to current living expenses, move in fees for a new home, house hold items, furniture and such as well as clothing for my daughter and I.
We are so thankful to not have endured the scare of being in the home while the fire started but we are saddened to be yet again without a home.
I just want to thank each and everyone of you in advance for your support whether that is prayers or donations. We are thankful beyond words.
