Mother & 3 Children Hit Head-On — Fighting to Recover

Story

My name is Bill Johnson, and I’m asking for help for my little sister and her three kids. Their lives were recently changed when another driver crossed the yellow line and wrecked into them head-on. What followed was a nightmare. A 13-Year-Old’s Courage My 13-year-old niece, Kallee, was the only one able to get out of the car after the crash. She unbuckled herself, climbed out of the wreckage, and pulled her siblings, her mother, and even the other driver to safety. Kal survived with minor physical injuries — but she carries the trauma of what she saw, what she did, and what she helped save her family from. Now she will spend the best part of the next year caregiving for her mother and two siblings. My Sister’s Body Was Shattered My sister suffered catastrophic injuries:     •    Every bone in her right leg was broken     •    Half her kneecap was destroyed     •    Her sternum and collarbone were fractured     •    She required emergency surgery and can’t put weight on her leg for at least 8 weeks She will need long-term home care, physical therapy, and additional surgeries. She cannot walk. She cannot work. And she’s more worried about her children than herself. Brantlee, Age 10: Unconscious and Injured My nephew Brant was unconscious as Kal pulled him to safety. At first, the EMTs thought his back might be broken.     •    He had a fractured hip in two places     •    Four broken fingers     •    He is unable to walk, use his hands, or feed himself Aubree, Age 12: Fighting to Live Aubrey was in agony, screaming about stomach pain. Her bowels were severed in the crash.     •    She had emergency surgery to remove portions of her small and large intestines     •    Her hemoglobin levels dropped so dangerously low that she needed two blood transfusions     •    She was placed on:     -A nasogastric tube     -A pain pump -Oxygen support     -A stomach drain and catheter And even now, she still hasn’t had surgery to repair the torn spinal ligaments in her back. We didn’t know if she would make it. Why We Need Help My sister’s family needs help with:     •    Medical bills insurance won’t cover     •    Transportation to and from hospitals     •    Home care and mobility equipment     •    Legal support     •    Rent, food, and utilities     •    Child therapy for PTSD     •    Physical therapy for all three of them We’re asking for $50,000 to get them through this crisis and give them a chance to heal — together, safely, and with dignity. How You Can Help Please donate if you’re able. And if you can’t donate, please share this page. On behalf of my family, thank you for caring.

My name is Bill Johnson, and I’m asking for help for my little sister and her three kids. Their lives were recently changed when another driver crossed the yellow line and wrecked into them head-on.

What followed was a nightmare.

A 13-Year-Old’s Courage

My 13-year-old niece, Kallee, was the only one able to get out of the car after the crash.

My Sister’s Body Was Shattered

My sister suffered catastrophic injuries:
    •    Every bone in her right leg was broken
    •    Half her kneecap was destroyed
    •    Her sternum and collarbone were fractured
    •    She required emergency surgery and can’t put weight on her leg for at least 8 weeks

She will need long-term home care, physical therapy, and additional surgeries. She cannot walk. She cannot work. And she’s more worried about her children than herself.

Brantlee, Age 10: Unconscious and Injured

My nephew Brant was unconscious as Kal pulled him to safety. At first, the EMTs thought his back might be broken.
    •    He had a fractured hip in two places
    •    Four broken fingers
    •    He is unable to walk, use his hands, or feed himself

Aubree, Age 12: Fighting to Live

Aubrey was in agony, screaming about stomach pain. Her bowels were severed in the crash.
    •    She had emergency surgery to remove portions of her small and large intestines
    •    Her hemoglobin levels dropped so dangerously low that she needed two blood transfusions
    •    She was placed on:
    -A nasogastric tube
    -A pain pump
-Oxygen support
    -A stomach drain and catheter
And even now, she still hasn’t had surgery to repair the torn spinal ligaments in her back.
We didn’t know if she would make it.

Why We Need Help

My sister’s family needs help with:
    •    Medical bills insurance won’t cover
    •    Transportation to and from hospitals
    •    Home care and mobility equipment
    •    Legal support
    •    Rent, food, and utilities
    •    Child therapy for PTSD
    •    Physical therapy for all three of them

We’re asking for $50,000 to get them through this crisis and give them a chance to heal — together, safely, and with dignity.
