Moth Angel: Short Independent Film
Donation protected
Moth Angel is a coming-of-age short film that traces the quiet, internal journey of Therese, a reserved college student grappling with self-discovery and identity. As she prepares for a visit from her high school best friend, Margot, she wrestles with feelings of isolation, self-image, and a deep yearning for connection. Margot’s arrival rekindles their easy, intimate friendship, but also magnifies the widening gap between their evolving lives. While Margot shares stories of new experiences, love, and self-acceptance, Therese is left questioning her own identity and place in the world.
A passing remark from Margot unexpectedly cuts deep, leaving Therese in silent agony. As their weekend together comes to an end, Therese is left with an aching realization: the person she once felt most at home with is moving forward, while she remains anchored in uncertainty, forced to find a sense of self independent of the past.
Moth Angel is a delicate, introspective portrait of loneliness, identity, and the quiet pain of growing apart.
We are shooting in Mid-May in Annandale-on-Hudson, and all the crew and cast are part of this as a passion project, meaning they are doing this pro-bono! We really just need funding to rent equipment, location permits, and help with any transport.
Thank you!! We've all been working super hard on this.
