Moses Kim's Internship to Japan

Donation protected
I am leaving on 5/11 or 5/12, and I will be there for approximately 8 weeks. My good friend suggested me to go visit this missionary family. The church has 10+ intentional ministries to reach the community (different schools, parents, calligraphy, biblical counseling training, etc.), so my desire is to be with Tak wherever he goes and learn from him and help him. The church had 1000+ visitors last year through different activities, and 14 people came to Christ (praise God!). Most likely I will be studying Japanese in the morning.
____________

Japan.

It's a country full of stories—much more than just samurais and ninjas. It's a place where people like us have walked around for thousands of years, even though we only hear about the stories they left behind. Maybe you heard about Oda Nobunaga's conquest or (as mentioned above) old Japanese spies called "ninjas." Maybe you watched a movie called "The Last Samurai" and wondered if it really happened (it didn't, by the way). But more than anything else, you most likely know Japan in light of the World Wars and the atomic bomb.

Nowadays, the nation of Japan stands as one of the most powerful countries in the world. However, despite its strong economy, Japan is actually one of the least-reached countries with the Gospel. The country has a population of more than 120 million, but approximately 0.6% claim to be evangelical. Their devotion to the traditional religious culture mixed with modern secularism seems to make the place darker and darker. "Nihon," literally meaning "the sun's origin," remains in the darkness—it does not enjoy the true Light...

But God is working. He has His people scattered throughout the country for His glory. For my program’s cross-cultural internship requirement, I have decided to go visit Tak & Sarah Hayashi in Japan. Tak is a BJU graduate who is pastoring a church in one of the least-reached regions of Japan. The church is very active in reaching out to the community. I'm super excited to meet my family from another corner of this world and learn from them.

Japan is one of the most developed countries in the world, but it remains one of the least reached countries with the Gospel. I have always been interested in Japan because of its historical connection to Korea and its uniquely (super) high-context culture. I learned Japanese with my sister in the past, and my goal is to get to the point where I can actually have a Gospel conversation with local people using the language.

I humbly ask for your support in two ways: prayer and finance. Obviously, I will need finance to get there, but I firmly believe that without prayer the trip is absolutely meaningless. Please pray that God will use this trip for His glory. Pray that I will be an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray that God will bring people in my life to encourage and challenge me! Pray that I will get to share Christ during this trip. Pray that God will grow me to be more like Christ.

If you would like to support me financially, you could either donate through my GoFundMe page or send a check payable to "WooJoo Kim" to my address:

Please don't feel pressured to give just because you know me. But I might or might not get offended if you don't pray for me at all. :)

Thank you very much!
