Sammy and Morty need your help - Morty had an undiagnosed ulcer in his eye, and now he has to get emergency surgery to get the eye removed.

On the evening of Monday, August 4, Sammy noticed that Morty's eye had a lot of mucus in it. He made an appointment for Wednesday, which was the earliest available at the time, and cleaned Morty's eye for him. But Morty's eye was still irritated, and Morty was still rubbing his eye. He rubbed his eye so hard that it caused a deep scratch!

Sammy immediately took Morty to the E.R. at the animal hospital, where they gave Morty pain medication and diagnosed the issue. They let Sammy know that Morty had an ulcer, which had not been identified before. They also told Sammy that Morty would need to have the eye removed.

Morty stayed overnight since he was on a lot of medications and needed to be monitored. The next day, on Tuesday, August 5, Sammy was allowed to take Morty home.

Morty will go to the vet for his surgery tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6.

The bill for the overnight stay, pain medicine, and diagnosis was $3,300.

The surgery is estimated to cost between $2,500 and $3,500; I will update this fundraiser when the bill is finalized.

I am aiming to raise $6,000 to make sure Sammy is able to cover these last-minute costs for Morty. If you know Sammy, you know how important Morty is; Morty has been with Sammy through thick and thin since 2016, and they are absolute best friends.
