Hello Beloved Community and new friends! For those that do not know me, I’m Morticia Godiva. I am a writer, actress, multidisciplinary artist, and community organizer based in NYC. Through my work as the co-Director at Black Trans Travel Fund, I have dedicated my life to ensuring that the communities I care for and come from receive vital resources when they need it most. I am now stepping into a moment of vulnerability as I ask for some much needed support in this time. (I’m a Virgo, so please understand that asking for help is NOT easy for me to do LOL).

I have chosen to further my education by enrolling in an aesthetics and cosmetology program. This program will allow me to use my passion for skincare and wellness and transform it into a career that can support myself, my family, and my community at large. Over the years, I have always been curious about the body's largest organ and the ways to keep it glowing and healthy. Through a great deal of dedication to independent research, I have been able to find solutions to skincare issues for myself, as well as family and friends. I am now ready to take the next step in this journey by pursuing licensure. I am seeking $10k to support this educational journey.

These funds will be used to help pay for my courses, (financial aid is scarce, y’all know what the Department of Education is giving right now…) ensure that I have reliable transportation to and from school, and to overall provide a bit of ease around maintaining these things on top of my current work, personal, and community responsibilities.
