Mortgage help to nab my apartment before it sells!
Donation protected
EDIT; After hitting the goal and getting the cash from GFM. I followed some advice and went to a building society to start the mortgage process. Hilariously, they can't give me a mortgage as the £40,000 rate is "too low" as the minimum borrow limit is £50,000 for them... So I have to 1. ask my landlord to UP THE AMOUNT TO SELL IT to qualify for that criteria... So I need to put a deposit down of £5,000 for them and essentially pay £10K more over 30 years for them to consider the mortgage which is nuts but that's the state it is currently, I'll be shopping around for other mortgage brokers and offers but this is the current state of things!
Heya friends, family and folk.
So, after much kerfuffle back in 2021, I moved from Huddersfield to a single bed flat in Halifax. It's been my home for 3 years now and it's an amazing starter flat and general great place to live. My landlord has been amazing to me and it's been just one of the best places I've lived. Now however the landlord is hoping to sell the flat and has given me first refusal from March onwards!
So, my goal is to pony up the money for the mortgage so I can stay in my apartment and also make it truly mine, the total sell price of the flat being sold is £40,000, so £4,000 for the 10% deposit. This is one of the cheapest mortgages I'll be able to get and is a one in a million opportunity. This then allows me to fulfil a dream of actually owning my own place rather than hopping every few years.
This also ties into a Subathon I'll be doing on Twitch, any money paid here goes into that stream, extending it and going to goals that are tied to it. On top of that, anyone who pays into it, will get photo credit for future events I photograph. Every £1 is one photo to the person who pays in.
I know this is a big ask, it is a hell of an undertaking to raise that much by March so I completely get it, but if you can spare any change, this would be a massive help and you'd be helping house me permanently in a place that doesn't cost 750+ a month plus bills and food/drink which allows me to keep doing what I'm doing, in my own flat.
<3 you all, thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
